My newest painting: Beatlemania

The Beatles Beatlemania — I had not painted in a while but this one was on my bucket list to do for a long time and I decided to do it between writing projects. It has been adapted from an old black and white photo that was taken in front of Buckingham Palace at the start of Beatlemania around 1964. The photo evoked so much action that I thought it would be fun to paint the essence of it along with some of my own embellishments. In my rendition, I added some figures reminiscent of young girls who swooned over the Beatles in order to capture more the feelings from that era although the reactions I’m sure are much the same for any really popular group or individual. The original is oil on canvas and the cost for a 24 in. x 36” print on fine art paper is $265.
